Mobile data collection is the method of gathering any type of data using a mobile device such as a smartphone, tablet or PDA. Prior to the dawn of mobile technology, data needed to be recorded on site with a pen and paper. Now, data can be recorded directly onto a mobile device at the information source, completely eliminating the need for post-information-gathering data entry. DATALYST AFRICA uses Open Data Kit (ODK) to build electronic forms, collect data, monitor & analyse data and build customized reports (PDF, WORD, EXCEL).
